This study used the active components extracted from F. velutipes dry powder (FVP) and F. velutipes extract (FVE) to investigate the impact of these active components on the functional constituents and its hypolipidemic activities, skin efficacy. Comparison of commercial white and yellow varieties F.velutipes flavor and aroma components of ingredients. The results show: the total content of nucleotides were 30.52 and 29.9 μg/g; the total content of amino acids, respectively, 18.2 and 26.57 μg/g; aroma analysis were identified 35 and 36 kinds of aroma components, including different types of alcohols, ketones, acids, esters and other compounds, the total content of its aroma were 4514.6 and 6936.8 μg/kg. With FVP and FVE to explore its active ingredient. Dietary fiber content, the results were 29.34 and 15.08 mg/100g; F. velutipes mycosterols content results were 46.57 and 39.29 mg/100g; rutin results were 3.42 and 7.3 mg/100g; quercetin results were 4.1 and 7.1 mg/100g; polysaccharide content results were 4.34 and 15.23 mg/ 100g. With FVP and FVE to explore its antioxidant capacity. In the DPPH ( 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl ) free radical scavenging ability, the results were 21.6 and 99.7 %; ferrous ion chelating ability results were 10.9 and 46.4 %; reducing power results were 17.1 and 68.1; total antioxidant capacity results were 25.2 and 98.6; The total phenolic content results were 164.5 and 4598 ppm. Male hamsters were subjected to lipid metabolism monitoring by adding 1, 2 and 3 % FVP or FVE into their diet for a period of 8 weeks. The animal assay results show that the 3 % FVP and FVE groups have the lowest concentration of TC(totalcholesterol),TG(triacylglycerol),LDL ( low density lipoprotein-cholesterol ) and HDL ( high density lipoprotein-cholesterol ) in the serum and liver ( P < 0.05 ) among all groups. Our results demonstrate that the addition of 3 % FVP or FVE has a significantly beneficial effect on the lipid metabolism in hamsters whose increased level of HDL in the serum was induced by a high fat diet. We also found good inhibition effects in the melanin formation of A2058 cells from different treatments with F. velutipes (100 μg/mL). Cosmetic efficacy analysis was done by applying F. velutipes extract or placebo on the skin of different body parts. Experimental results show conspicuous effects in skin whitening on forehead, skin surface moisture on forearm, and UV spots removal on face (P < 0.002 ).
