The main issue is the impact of climate change around the world, which is getting worst and causing dangerous problems for human beings and other living creatures. These issues also cause concerns for enterprises forcing them to study the environmental effects of their manufacturing processes. The objective is to find ways to control their greenhouse gas emissions and to help ease global warming. Kyoto Protocol has been proposed to address these concerns. It clearly specifies the responsibilities of its members to reduce the emission of six greenhouse gases. Among them, carbon emission contributes the most. Now, carbon emissions are not charged and regulated, doing so will increase the production costs. This study develops an optimal manufacturing process model for the processes of mobile phone protective shells. In order to satisfy the target customer demands and environment requirements, we investigate various raw materials, different manufacturing processes and possible selected machine types for various manufacturing processing stations. This study develops a mathematical model of mixed integer programming (MIP) to explore three situations: (1) manufacturing cost, (2) carbon emissions, and (3) cost of carbon taxes converted from carbon emissions. We believe that this study could provide a reference to companies for the implementation of green design and green manufacturing. Hsin Rau 饒忻 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 125 zh-TW
