This study chose survey method. The tool was “The Questionnaire of Taichung City Elementary School Teachers’ Work Values and Professional Developments”. The study subjects were elementary school teachers in Taichung City. The way to choose study samples was stratified sampling. The effective samples were 593 in total. According to the result of the questionnaires, the following conclusions had been analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation method, and multiple regression analysis. The fallowings are the conclusions: (1) elementary school teachers in Taichung City generally had excellent attitude toward work values, especially in “self-growth”; (2) elementary school teachers in Taichung City generally had excellent professinal developments, especially in “professionalism” ; (3) teachers with different ages and different years of working experiences had significant differences in work values; (4) teachers with different ages and different years of working experiences had significant difference in professional development; (5) teachers who had higher performance in work values had better professional developments; (6) the work values of elementary school teachers in Taichung City have the high predictor for professional development, especially "organization safety" is the main predictive variable. Finally, according to the conclusions, this study proposes some suggestions to education administrative agencies, administrations of elementary schools, elementary school teachers, as well as the future researchers.
