A standard chest phantom was radiographed by fixing mAs at 2.3 with changing kVp at 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, and 125. A Solid state detector (PTW Diados, Germany) was used to detect entrance skin dose (ESD). 30 radiographers were invited to evaluate each image quality by Visual Grading Analysis (VGA). ANOVA, tree clustering analysis and pair t-test were applied for examining result. The consequence of the study showed ESD increase by increasing kVps. kVp at 80, 90, 100, 110, and 120 with the ESD (mGy) of 0.009, 0.012, 0.015, 0.019, 0.023, and 0.027 respectively. There significant difference showed image quality at 80kVp was different among the group at p< .05. As a result, kVp is the key feature to master the radiation dose for patients. Carefully use this change could decrease much radiation dose. The result showed the ESD decrease 40% of the original one without deteriorate the image quality.
