Exploration on the Application of GRG in Construction Engineering-Decoration Engineering of Wei-Wu-Ying Arts and Culture Center as an Example

碩士 === 正修科技大學 === 營建工程研究所 === 103 === In view of the obtainment of performance venue in Kaohsiung city, for long time, is more difficult than in Taipei city, along with the original use of Wei-Wu-Ying Park is for military purpose and south Taiwan area has its own strong local characteristics, Wei-Wu-Ying Performing Arts Center was then given birth after a series of struggle to transform the barracks became a world-class performing arts facility. The development of process shows not only Southern Taiwan people’s awareness on cultural consciousness and urban reengineering but also meets in accordance with the trend of international cultural and creative development. This achievement is of great significance. The goal of Wei-Wu-Ying Performing Arts Center is to create a world-class performing arts facility and tuned as a “National Theater & Concert Hall” in Southern Taiwan. The local perspective was output thru international architectural competition. The creative design of architecture connects the nature to building, like integrate the building into Whole Park, reflecting successfully south Taiwan area’s characteristics and climatic conditions, in accordance with practical service function as well. The whole architectural complex, include a Lyric Theater, a Black Box Theater, a Recital Hall and a Concert Hall what to be built individually due to theater features, were skillfully merged into a single whole. Besides help move smoothly in the backstage to save time and simplify matters, it also helps easy administrative management for business operation. Base on this, to fit individual performing/ play hall's functional features and practicability, it's to take advantage of different building materials' properties on design to serve well irrelevant traits between each other within connected relation. Currently, a large quantity of GRG, Glass-fiber Reinforced Gypsum ceiling panels and wall boards are used for theater features purpose on Wei-Wu-Ying Performing Arts Center project to meet acoustic performance requirements, reflection and diffusion. There were few of GRG use experience was found in domestic building projects as well as the material is rarely used on physical construction. It is result from the designer does not familiar with material's property and the building industry didn’t pay much attention on physical environment demand. Therefore, with this case study and discussion, we wish to provide relative countermeasures and suggestions for construction engineering related project’s reference and application example in the future.
