Based on the above program, a "Sustainable Development Committee" has been set up by Taiwan central government, and has declared to promote the green-building policies on "Construction and Planning White Paper". The promotion of Taiwan sustainable development has connected formally with international standards. Primary schools are the most basic chains on education system. The schools usually have the huge outdoor space for public. If the outdoor space of campus can meet the "green building" index, it will be more effective to improve the campus or enhance the quality of urban ecological environment quality. This study focused on the primary schools at Houli District, Taichung City, and based on the latest edition of EEWH as the evaluation criterion of "ecological index group". In other words, the study aimed to analyze and compare the assessment indicators of "biodiversity", "green volume" and " planting " through the field survey and, then, to provide the suggestions to enhance the ecological environment of the school campus. The finding results showed that the overall pass rate of green volume indicators is 100% at the primary schools at Houli District, Taichung City, however, the overall pass rate of biodiversity indicators is only 20%, and planting indicators is only 40%.Biodiversity indicators are the same as ecological indicators. The biological diversity environment is unable to be created due to less green space on campus, some friendly environment for animals and plants setting poor such as ponds etc., the biodiversity indicators of qualitative criteria need to be strengthened. Concerning the planting indicators, the poor hydrophilic to the land which caused the low level of the general planting indicators due to the excess of laying asphalt or concrete. As for rate of green volume indicators, the better indicator rate of green volume indicators comes from the enough amounts of arbors on the campus. This study used the fieldwork to identify the relevant causes and analysis hoping to have an appropriate basis and reference contribution to the similar schools or environmental plans in the future.
