Per the statistic, it shows that it’s going decreased by years for the children under 12 year-old who are dead by transportation accident. However, it is still the first factor for the children‘s injure and death by transportation accident. Therefore, it’s very priority and important to teach the children the knowledge of traffic safety and help them identity traffic signs and rules.
In daily commute to school, the children are much not familiar with traffic sense and self –protection, that’s because their metal and physical is in developing, have over curiosity and cannot concentrate when walking on the roads. Furthermore, their height is not enough to observe the vehicles and obstacles and make them judge what safety situation is when in traffic. For the drivers, the children cannot be visible clearly and result in accident. The research is studying kindergarten’s knowledge for traffic safety education ~ picture story learning demand. And according to this study case and teach course to evaluate the efficient of this class.
First the study will survey the importance of kindergarten’s traffic safety via picture story to children’s parents, teachers, traffic policemen, and volunteers. Through narrative statistics analyses and K average calculation, resulted in very important of traffic safety education to children’s parents and related personal, to confirm the main theme of picture story education. Based on previous study, we designed “Picture story education creation” and “Parents-Children co-reading” learning session exercise. Performing re-education starting point behavior test. Through exercise of this class and analyze the result, we conclude the following result.
(1) Knowing that wear a helmet and fasten a seat belt when transportations, and have a concept of over passengers and weights. To know that there’s potential danger when walking. Obey the traffic direction and instructions. Understand the traffic signs, mark-lines, names and their functions. To know the passengers and vehicles’ rights and the gestures for safety passing through the roads, and pick-up kids area and packing area.
(2) The average of after learning performance is higher than before learning; the average of after children learning and parents-children co-testing is higher than before test. The above shows that this experimental teaching plan works.
