Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 運輸科技與物流管理學系碩士班 === 103 === The study takes the mode of the Importance- Performance and Gap Analysis ( IPGA) to analyzes the satisfaction of school library service quality to students, and offers school the library management for reference.
The study is based on the questionnaire survey and literature analysis to conduct the measure aspects of school library service for senior high school students. These measure aspects include “environment and facilities”, “librarian service”, “library service”, “library resources”, and “art and cultural activities”. This study adopted the questionnaire survey to send out 370 copies of questionnaire, and 320 valid copies returned with a valid return rate of 86%.
Finally the Importance- Performance and Gap Analysis ( IPGA) matrix showed that twelve main items should be improved first, and they are “Clean and comfortable reading area”, “Plenty of lighting in the library”, “Clean environment around”, “Library opening hours with needs”, “Obvious and arresting guidance”, “Provide adequate reading seats”, “Librarians assist the readers with pleasure”, “Librarians are stand by when readers are in need of help”, “Friendly and cordial reception”, “Provide the photocopying service for students”, “Provide computers to surf and check information”, “ Provide the information about new released books and good recommended books”.
According to the conclusion, here are the following recommendations:
1. School library budget should be increased to improve the lighting and spatial arrangement, provide the adequate reading seats, replan the museum guidance in order to enhance the library function and uplift the satisfaction.
2. School librarians should regularly participate in the library-related seminars and the strengthening of the librarian service attitude and interact with the students by Face Book or blogs as well to improve the school library service quality.
3. Increase the opening hours on holidays or after off work, and also provide rooms for individual study that can make students use the library thoroughly well and in line with the students’ expectation.
4. Pass on the message about art activities to students by following approaches, such as library newsletter, school periodicals, broadcast equipment, posting up the posters about new released books on the bulletin,or even or purchasing related books about green transportation,energy conservation and carbon reduction to develop the interests in reading for students.
