The planning algorithm was focused on consolidating virtual machines among several physical machines to reduce total energy consumption. In order to simplify the planning, this thesis analyzes energy consumption from single physical machine point of view. First, monitor physical machine resource utilization, measure the power usage of physical machine, then model energy consumption by time, CPU utilization. Our planning gives not only an effective management on virtual machine in data center, but a straightforward guideline for users to calculate their needs of using virtual machine.
