As a result of this, the alteration of family structure, the increased number of the elderly living alone, low birth rate, and the change of family core are getting worse. Consequently, the demands of long term care for the elderly are increasing rapidly day by day. The government responds accordingly to the demands of long term care for the elderly among the aging society, as well as soothes the pressure of care taker and economic burden of attention for the family, and enhances the vulgarization of development of care and attentiveness. The government expects to ensure the long term care for meeting the citizen’s demands, and increases the right for a citizen good service to choose from. Besides, to fulfill the function of care for a society and the policy of ageing in place, and to improve quality of life and dignity for the elderly. The concept of ageing in place is a tendency needs to be solved collectively for encountering the coming of ageing society globally. Among which, day care issue has become an important item of development recently. Not only it brings the concept of ageing in place into full place, but also causes no pressure for the elderly to leave the environment they get used to it. The purpose of day care center is to postpone the senile dementia and disability to enter this kind of institute for attentiveness early. Currently, the day care centers in Taipei city mainly focus on the issues of health care, competency training, reminiscence therapy, and activation for the physical and psychological effects. To provide the variance and diversity of activities for flourishing their social life and establishing their independence. This can preserve their dignity. The objective is to improve the health and quality of life for the elderly, prolong their stay at the community, and hold together their family ties. 　　　The operating frequency of living space of day care center for the social administration system is much higher that of the health administration system. The attribute of accepting the elderly are light and medium dementia patients, therefore we cannot obtain the recommendation and information of approval rating from the elderly. Hence, we offer recommendation and affection regarding the current operation of living space mainly focused on the frontline day care worker during their procedure of looking after the elderly. To be a basis for programming the environment of day care center for the elderly in the future. The research results of questionnaire and interview integrated and analyzed are as the following: 1. Software (1) The philosophy of attentiveness follows the principles of “small unit attentiveness” and 　　　 　　“individual attentiveness.” (2) Inadequate manpower of services. (3) Question of service hour for the day care center. (4) Affiliated to the multi-professional manpower, it only satisfies the demand of individual case. 2. Hardware (1) The configuration type of institute prefers the configuration of “single-level,” mainly because 　　“to reduce the danger of climbing up and down” and “easy control of the movement of the elderly, no need for abundant manpower.” (2) The factor of “cozy tone” has the highest approval rating of space of affecting amity. (3) The factors of “good equipment”, “sufficient facilities”, and “good lighting” have highest 　　 　　approval rating of space of affecting living space. (4) The factors of “sufficient facilities”, “cozy tone”, “quiet and not to be disturbed” have the 　 　　highest approval rating of space of living room. (5) The factor of “good ventilation” has the highest approval rating of space of affecting the rehabilitation. (6) The factor of “quiet and not to be disturbed” has the highest approval rating of space of affecting competency therapy. (7) The factor of “good lighting” has the highest approval rating of space of affecting hall of lingering and wondering. (8) The factor of “good lighting” has the highest approval rating of space of dinning (9) The factor of “good handicapped facility” has the highest approval rating of space of affecting hygiene and health. 　 To cope with the differences of background and demand for the elderly, we must make appropriate adjustment. We must have specific service customers for preventing overlapping of resources, to make different programming and arrangement of attention in accordance with various cases or service units of dissimilar level of dementia or disability; to adapt to demands of care and programming for the elderly, it is very important for the provision of day care service to supply good service content and application of space, which are the keys of affecting the quality of service.
