Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 高階主管管理碩士在職專班 === 103 === In the transformation and development processes of Taiwan’s economy, many of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) passed the various tests and challenges of the economic market and have successfully transformed into large scale enterprises. The SMEs, with their businesses enlarged and new markets developed, have been encountering new challenges in management. A considerable amount of literature has investigated how SMEs contribute significantly to economic growth; yet, relatively few studies have explored the ways in which human resource management influences a SME’s development. Human resource management plays a vital role in today’s highly competitive market, where companies, in order to expand into new territories and attain business growth and operating performance, wreck their brains and offer incentives such as well-designed welfare systems only to attract and retain talented people. By adopting the motivational-based management to encourage their employee and develop their potentials, the companies aim to nurture more talents to achieve sustainable development. Using Company A as a case-study example, this thesis examines the company’s different practices in human resource management as it developed from a SME into a large and medium-sized enterprise. The findings of this study suggest that, since “human” is the basis of all enterprises, SMEs should strengthen their human resource management capabilities even under insufficient resources and disadvantageous conditions, and set up human resource policies that are applicable to their business scale, all of which is key to SME growth and development. The thesis demonstrates potential for providing SMEs with references regarding business growth strategies and human resource management practices, aiming to increase SMEs’ focus on human resource management.
