They include increasing number of servers, service virtualization, VM migration, and management. The data center network designed by traditional LAN/WAN has many challenges, e.g., trasmission distances, VLAN number limitation, etc. There is a new Layer 2 network technology, TRILL, published by IETF. The technology is suitable for the new generation data center networks. To increase the geographical scope of data centers, we propose a method using VPLS to interconnec TRILL networks. In addition, we design and impliement the interworking gateway device. The gateway devices exhcange the RBridges' informations via the VPLS control protocol which is based on the Quagga architecture. It could make the PE device work as the core RBridege does and allow the TRILL service to pass through VPLS networks. Remote TRILL networks share RBridges' informations to have the whole topology. Besides, we used TRILL outer VLAN to differentiate tenants' flows.
