Asia-Pacific region returned to the spotlight of international community. Among all the Pacific issues, Asia’s regional economic integration is the greatest concern of the global society. In order to achieve the vision of Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP), there are two different approaches to liberalization. One is Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP); the other is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). RCEP mainly comprises China, ASEAN, and the “ASEAN+1” countries. By contrast, the TPP consist of the United States and intercontinental countries, but at present does not going to have the regional power-China. Consequently, the TPP literally poses challenge to existing Asian power structure. For Taiwan, both regional free trade agreements may be able to serve a range of goals. These include: economic growth, increasing exports etc. Therefore, it’s important for us to strive to participate in any one of the agreement. This study presents a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis for the understanding of Taiwan’s internal situation and external environment. It’s hoped that the study could provide a good overview of the complex regional circumstances. Wen-Chih Chao 趙文志 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 112 zh-TW
