With the changing times, the socio-economic structure in the country has been transformed into an industry and commerce based economy, in turn causing a decline in the tea industry. With the trends of trade liberalization in the agricultural industry, tea production, manufacturing and marketing have also changed with the environment and the system. The research focuses on the theme of tea development in the Hakka region in Miaoli, where the area’s natural environment and socio-economic environment are examined to gain an insight into the economic development progress and tea culture of Oriental Beauty Tea in Miaoli. Furthermore, through the analysis of the interview data which where conducted for related people in both the public and private sectors and tea farmers, the aim is to understand the status quo of the Oriental Beauty Tea industry, thereby exploring how modern tea farmers foster the rebirth of Oriental Beauty Tea in Miaoli via a business model transformation. It is hoped to formulate new strategies and future development opportunities for the tea industry through the tea industry and related government agencies in Miaoli.
