Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 通訊工程學系 === 102 === The research in this thesis is separated into two parts: design of dual polarization waveguide antenna for Wi-Fi application; and simulation and measurement of horn antennas used for compact antenna test range(CATR). With the development of mobile devices, the need for Wi-Fi hotspots is increasing. Conventional AP uses two or three antennas to achieve MIMO. This research propose a novel waveguide antenna that excite two orthogonal polarizations in a cross-shaped waveguide that can not only provide two communication channels via a single antenna, but can also receive all types of polarization signal. In order to characterize an antenna accurately, we usaually need the incident wave to be a plane wave, in the conventional method we place the AUT(Antenna Under Test) in the far-field range of the source antenna. Compact antenna test range uses a reflector antenna with a set of feed horn antennas to collimate the incident wave into plane wave.
