Thin film was prepared by using 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) as precursor. Different ratios of 2-hydroxythylmethacrylate (HEMA) and specific ratio of 3-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS) were added into GPTMS solution for sol-gel reaction. MPTES/HEMA/MPTMS of uncoated aluminum substrate for electrochemical test, its impedance value only have 5.12#westeur024#102 ohm. However, MPTES/HEMA/MPTMS of coated aluminum substrate of impedance value increased to 6.51#westeur024#105 ohm. Moreover, hardness increased to 3B. Better corrosion property was obtained for GPTMS/HEMA/MPTMS coated aluminum substrate.
