A total of 937 examinee, 312 men, mean age 66.8 ± 16.9 years; 625 women, mean age 60.3 ± 15.3 years. All examinee were accepted quantitative ultrasound measurement of the usual or not injured calcaneus, and fill out the questionnaire of living conditions. Then, the detected speed of sound (SOS)、broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) and quantitative ultrasound index (QUI) and the questionnaire for correlation analysis. In this study, the SOS average for male is 1528.7 ± 31.8 m/s; for female is 1524.3 ± 32.8 m/s (p=0.049), the BUA average for male is 69.5 ± 17.3 dB/cm; for females is 63.2 ± 18.4 dB/cm (p<0.001), the QUI average for male is 84.4 ± 19.3; for females is 79.5 ± 20.4 (p<0.001), the T-score average for male is -1.1 ± 1.2; for females is -1.4 ± 1.3 (p=0.001). From the results of which can be found in older women during the smoking habits of SOS (r=-0.141), BUA (r=-0.131) and QUI (r=-0.150) showed a significant negative correlation (p<0.05), but without this correlation analysis of all women; And all the women have tea and coffee habit SOS (r=-0.115), BUA (r=-0.111) and QUI (r=-0.106) are of extreme significant negative correlation (p<0.01), but in the age-stratified are not. In addition to this study, premenopausal women SOS (r=-0.194), BUA (r=-0.160) and QUI (r=-0.177) for long-term drug use has a significant negative correlation (p<0.05), and analysis of all women with the same result, but in the age-stratified is no significant correlation. In conclusion, bone density is significant differences in genders. At different age-stratified and different living habits also have the different bone density.
