The relationship between the weared width, depth and load for surface treated two high-strength aluminum alloys was investigated. Moreover, the influence of the surface treatment on the hardness and contact angle was studied. SEM and EDS were used to observe and analyze the microstructure and elemental compositions of the aluminum surfaces. The wear test results showed the wered width and depth of 7075 aluminum alloy were larger than 7475 aluminum alloy. The width and depth of the scratches on the coated aluminum surfaces were smaller than those on the uncoated surfaces. The surface treatment enhaced the hardness. In addition, the micro-hardness testing results showed that the hardness of the surface coaded diamond-like carbon, micro-arc oxidation, hard anodized, titanium nitride, anodized was in sequence from high to low. The contact angle measurement results showed that the contact angles of the surface coaded diamond-like carbon, micro-arc oxidation, hard anodized, titanium nitride, anodized were in sequence from high to low. After surface treatment, the hardness and contact angle of 7075 and 7475 aluminum alloys increased. That means coating treatment enhanced the anti-stick properties of aluminum alloys.
