The demand for speed, precision, stability and low cost in manufacturing process are the driving force for the evolvement of the new generation of machinery. Subsequently, the combination between the demand for cost saving and the incorporation of highly complex interactive components, like sensors, into the already complex machinery has gradually taking over the direct involvement of human body parts. This improves consistency and greatly reduces the danger of direct contact with the machinery as well as the cost for human labor. This study discusses the MCR(Motorcycle Radial) heavy motorcycle tire molding machine, which at the beginning doesn't have tension control. We try to improve uneven fit tire material. In the MCR tire molding machine, we install servo motor, force sensor and propose Dual PLC controller system and program a PID closed-loop controller. And then complete the MCR tire winding tension control system. Tire tension control not only provide better tire grip and reduce wear, it also prevent serious failure that could cause property damage or even human lives. In addition, this study also uses PC-Based tension data acquisition system and curve display system by LabVIEW software.
