Many industry will continue to expand existing data center IT equipment to improve the operational effectiveness of the cabinet, to achieve the purpose of saving space. In order to maintain a relatively stable internal device operation, is bound to add more air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to solve the local hot spots occur probability.
In this paper,using small, medium,and large size cabinet to study the data center, also using the concept of partition management to be high, medium and low density of the cabinet to discuss separately from the temperature field and flow field Referred the results, the local hot spots occur position, and in accordance with the data center environmental assessment indicators to explore the effectiveness of its operating environment.
This study was performed by computational fluid dynamics simulation software analysis,changing the number of air-conditioned box and its operation management control of the flow field (closed cold and hot air channel) and new air conditioning cabinet boxes and other ways to explore effective ways to improve the local hot spots .
The simulation results found, in general, small data centers as long as the air conditioning cooling capacity sufficient, able to effectively manage heat cold air duct configuration form, will be able to make room to maintain the normal operation of the internal IT equipment; but a large area of space under air conditioning performance will improve simply not efficient IT equipment will also get good cooling effect; high-density rack area is prone to severe local hot spots. Therefore the localized hotspots easily rack area setting new cabinet air box to the local regional environmental control air conditioning load to ensure that the stability of operation of IT equipment, is one of the items that need to be explored.
