In the outer portion, the transmitted rate of sensor noses is relatively low, so Unslotted Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol is used. The protocol can improve channel utilization and reduce delay time in WSNs; while the inner part because the data transmission date is relatively high for a sensor node, Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) protocol is used that it can reduce collisions and co-channel interference. Funneling MAC protocol is a hybrid protocol which combines CSMA / CA with TDMA network protocol. The thesis is divided into three steps to explore. First, we establish a Funneling MAC that sensor nodes use non-slotted CSMA protocol in MAC's general area and the other sensor nodes adapt TDMA protocol in MAC's intensity areas. Next, network throughput of Funneling MAC protocol depends on the number of nodes and the different data packet production rate, we can find the best value of the intensity of the border region . Finally, we also proposed the Enhance Funneling MAC protocol to improve the transmission mechanism Funneling MAC in intensity zone of boundary region. Besides, our proposed Enhance Funneling MAC protocol depends on the number of nodes and the different data packet production rate, we can find the best value of the intensity of the border region . Simulation results show that performances of our proposed Enhance Funneling MAC protocol is superior to Funneling MAC protocol in terms of throughput, collision rate and space rate.
