Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 解剖學及細胞生物學研究所 === 102 === In the present study, human umbilical mesenchymal stem cells (HUMSCs) were transplanted into the cerebellum of spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1) transgenic mice to investigate whether they could ameliorate the shrinkage of cerebellum and loss of cerebellar function. HUMSC transplants effectively protected cerebellum from atrophy, prevented Purkinje cell death, and ameliorated motor performance by increasing muscular response after stimuli. Our findings provide a new therapeutic direction for clinical treatment of SCA1.
