Summary: | 碩士 === 萬能科技大學 === 資訊管理研究所在職專班 === 102 === The purposes of this study were to discuss the effectiveness of using cloud picture books in teaching reading comprehension and to design a practical teaching reading comprehension course for third grade students as the basis of teachers’ teaching strategy implementation.
A nonequivalent pretest-posttest design of Quasi-experimental was applied to 53 third grade students from two classes in this study. The experimental group was applied the cloud picture books in teaching reading comprehension and the control group was applied the traditional teaching method for 9 weeks. The participants were asked to complete the reading comprehension test and reading attitude scale in the pretest and posttest. Besides, the experimental group was requested to complete the course feedback scale for the analysis of learning outcome and teaching evaluation.
The collected data was analyzed with descriptive statistics and t-test, and the results were summarized as follows:
1. Using the cloud picture books on teaching reading significantly increased reading comprehension.
2. Using the cloud picture books on teaching reading significantly enhanced the students’ direct inference and explained integration abilities.
3. Using the cloud picture books on teaching reading significantly improved the students’ reading attitude.
4. Using the cloud picture books on teaching reading not only evoked the students’ motivation but also led them to think in the curriculum.
The qualitative analysis results of course feedback scale and learning scale reported that most students enjoyed the teaching method of cloud picture books and the experimental courses showed positive effects on students’ reading ability. The results that researchers concluded may provide the authorities, schools and further researchers more practical reference.
