Method: Six recreational runners participated in the study. Each subject run for 40-min (80 ± 5% maximal oxygen uptake) wearing compression garment (CG group) and normal sports cloth (control group) by counter-balance experimental design. The muscle activation, muscle vibration and muscle fatigue were measured from right rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, semitendinosus, tibialis anterior, and gastrocnemius muscles at initial running and ending running. Non-parametric statistical analysis was used to compare the differences between and within the groups. Results: The semitendinosus muscle activations of the CG group at stance phase of initial running and at swing phase of ending running were significantly lower than those of the control group (p &;lt; .05). The rectus femoris and gastrocnemius muscles vibrations of the CG group were significantly lower at swing phase of initial running than those of the control group (p &;lt; .05). Muscle fatigue of lower limb muscles were not significant difference between and within the groups (p > .05). Conclusion: Wearing compression garments reduced muscle vibration of certain lower extremity for recreational runners and enhanced efficiency of muscle activation during long-term running.
