According to people’s different music tastes and life styles, pop music is also related to social revolution; the most direct sensory experience in life are vision and audition, the latter of which can cause the subtle emotional and mental reaction of the general public. Visual design not only emphasizes on visual importance, but also pays special attention to various inner connotations of designers. In recent years, Taiwanese record designers continuously cut a figure internationally, such as Xiao Qingyang and Nie Yongzhen who has infused a variety of multiple cultural styles and successfully created Taiwanese pop music. The study will discuss the process of Xiao Qingyang and Nie Yongzhen’s participation in pop music record design. The main purposes are as follows: 1.Research results will comprehend the development of record design and the background features that formed visual designers by literature. 2.By interviews, the life stories of record designers are understood. Besides, Xiao Qingyang and Nie Yongzhen will be analyzed for comparison to understand the design styles of record pop music. 3.With the influence of social culture and psychology on record design, the comprehensive results are finally reflected and summarized. The research method will adopt in-depth interview and take the two designers as objects. Through the enlightenment brought to them by the record design during the narrative process, the context evolution from the artistic design of black plastic cover and the audio cassette in Taiwanese pop music industry to CD record is explored. By qualitative research, the record cover design of visual aesthetic is discussed. Finally, observations from the research result are as follows: 1.Designers take the record visual design as a channel of advertisement on people. 2.The research considers the purpose of the record visual design as a creation of the desired visual image from conveyed popular elements and consumers’ establishment of visual image of the singers through visual design. 3.Designers have always been emphasizing that both expertise and credibility can affect consumer group’s sense no matter what kind of the record visual design is. Thus, the visual design of the record is paramount.
