Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 應用藝術研究所 === 102 === The landscape as seen in the mind’s eye is personified using the balloon concept, allowing inexpressible emotions to break free. This creation contains six chapters. The motive and purpose of the creation is described in the introduction. It explains why balloon is used as the medium to project one’s emotions, and to show the changes in emotions as the consciousness of the mind and body wanders during the artist’s experience as an exchange student. The chapter on “Theoretical Basis” contains a behavioral analysis of the artist’s experience during his time as an exchange student, exploration of the structure and nature of travel, and analysis of symbolism and metaphors used in creative expression. The concept of symbolism and empathy is then used as the academic and theoretical basis for the balloon-themed creation. In the chapter on “Creative Inspiration and Expression”, the artist’s creative concept and drafts are described in detail. Furthermore, the chapter on “Material and Technique Analysis” records the various techniques used during the process of creating the metalwork, including metal shaping – Repoussé & Chasing, with the aid of 3D software applications; surface treatment – chemical dyeing, enamel spray painting and water transfer printing; and mixed media – clay and light soil. The chapter on “Description of Creation” is a detailed introduction to the creative concept behind each artwork and the media used. Finally, “Conclusion” is the artist’s thoughts on the creative process and self-evaluation. It is hoped that subjective re-expression through the objective image of various entities will provide people with an unusual way of looking at things, allowing people to discover their concealed self in the hidden soul of various objects, bringing more possibilities to the monotony of everyday living.
