To achieve the purposes of this study, relevant literature in the field was reviewed first. Subsequently, a survey was conducted among the students in 13 public junior high schools by stratified sampling. A total of 1,117 copies of the questionnaire were distributed, and 877 valid copies were retrieved with the effective response rate of 79%. After the data were analyzed, and the differences of background variables were compared, the findings and results were listed as follows: 1.Overall, Taipei junior high school students’s gender role attitudes inclined to modern equal rights. 2.Female Junior high school students in Taipei inclined to modern equal rights more than male students, especially in the aspects of “ability feature and behavior ” ,“gender interactions and relationships” and “social rights and obligations ”. 3.Grade 9 students’ gender role attitude towards occupational interestes and work inclined to modern equal rights the most. 4.Grade 9 students’s occupational choices were the most open and pluralistic of all. But no difference was found on the factors of gender, parental education, parental occupation. Base on the findings and results of this study, suggestions will be proposed for the further research or other purposes of educational institutions, administration, teachers and students.
