Therefore, top managers usually focus on enterprise performance in short term, relatively pay less attention to the business model innovation. Nowadays, the research of the business model is unusually applied in mechanical and electrical engineering industry. This study is focus on an mechanical and electrical engineering company for the innovative business model to respond to the changing business environment. The research framework is based on Osterwalder and Pigneur’s (2010) business model. The qualitative research method is employed for this study. In this study, two stages have been conducted. First, we analyze the current business model of the case company by using company’s internal data. Second, indepth interview and brain storming method were employed for creating new business model for the case company and comparative analysis. The results show the new value propositions for the case company''s innovative business model is in a design for our customers . The new value propositions can help increase trust between the customers and the case company. The new business model establishes better cooperation between the case company and its suppliers. Thereby reducing the revenue uncertainty and enhance case company’s overall profitability. Therefore, this study suggests that mechanical and electrical engineering companies should actively seek innovation business model to strengthen its profitability and maintain sustainable competitive advantage. This study also provides suggestions for practitioners who intend to conduct business model innovation and for academic’s future research.
