Wireless power meters mounted on the power sources measure the power signals and transmit the acquired data to the repeaters and then to the gateway. When the server of the monitoring system receives the data passed by the gateway, these measured data are processed and stored into a database in the form of designed schema. As a result, clients can use the graphical analysis tool to display the historical data and investigate detailed information. Also, to reduce the setup cost, the Floyd algorithm is used to find the data transmission route with the smallest number of repeaters. When communication channel is jammed, a frequency hopping solution is adopted to improve the successful transmission rate.
Finally, the monitoring system proposed by this work is implemented in the field and performs long-term monitoring to examine the reliability. From the monitored data and analyzed results, it indicates that the proposed system has the ability to on-line and long-term monitors the power sources. It is also found that the acquired power signal parameters can be used to carry out the power-saving analysis
