Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 工程科技研究所 === 102 === Due to global warming, the rate of occurrence of extreme precipitation has increased so that flood cannot be avoided. However, the existing strategies in Taiwan to prevent from the flood cannot function effectively. Therefore, this research proposed a new strategy, a floating house design. This design allows the house to float in flood and to come back to its original base when the flood went away, which meets the requirements of blocking from water.
The proposed floating house can be divided into four parts including the structure preventing from water, the main structure of house, the pulley-column system and the rubber bearing system. The paper discussed the codes or standards in Taiwan needed for designing each parts of the floating house and completed the floating house design. Finally, we devised a small-scale floating house model and did some dynamic experiments. Based on ship theory and the finite element modeling by software MSC.Patran, the numerical results can be obtained to compare with the experimental ones.
Because there is on guideline in Taiwan for designing floating houses, this research provided some information about how to design a floating house, and could also be used as a reference for further research.
