In this study, we find that many previous studies usually assumed the retailers shared the forecasting market demand process to other members of the supply chain in their models even if the model with no information sharing was discussed. In addition, all the associated parameters in the forecasting demand are also shared in the analysis. To consider the real-world operation of the supply chain, it is almost impossible to occur. Therefore, we propose the more practical model with no information sharing. This study builds three models of information sharing, including no information sharing, information sharing-1(including the market demand process and the retailer’s order), and information sharing-2(including the market demand process, the retailer’s order and the market demand). In this study, we build a general simulator of the supply chain. In the model with no information, the simulator allows users to select any forecasting demand model to meet more practical operation. In addition, we verify the correctness of the simulator and analyze the benefit of information sharing based on the viewpoint of the cost. We discuss the difference of the total cost among each member and each model with different information sharing under different factors: demand autocorrelation ρ, demand volatility σ, and the unit holding cost of manufacturer H^m. The results show that the most significant factors between the compared models are as follows. The demand fluctuation is the most significant factor when the model with no information sharing and that with information sharing-1 are compared. The demand autocorrelation is the most significant factor when the model information sharing-1 is compared with that with information sharing-2 based on the viewpoints of manufacturer and the whole supply chain.
