Summary:碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 資訊工程學系碩士在職專班 === 102 === This research explored the use of schematic video and Equality Axiom on helping math under achievers in after- school-care class to solving algebraic equations word problems. Algebraic word problems are difficult for students with low comprehensions. Students may also have reading comprehension problems or can't understand the Equality-Axiom rulers. Teachers could use computers to enhance learning effectiveness of students .There was six students participating in the study. This experiment used a single-subject design to evaluate the effectiveness of schematic video for math under achievers in after- school-care class. There were 4 phases in the design: base period, intervention period, generalization period and maintenance period .All phases were evaluated with written examination but maintenance test evaluate with computers after five weeks after the treatment. The results of the study were as follows: 1. Using schematic video and Equality Axiom system had immediate effect on listing an equation of algebraic word problems for math under achievers in after- school-care class 2. Using schematic video and Equality Axiom system had effect on solving algebraic equations word problems for math under achievers in after- school-care class but it wasn’t obvious early. 3. Using schematic video and Equality Axiom system could enhance and maintain results of listing an equation of algebraic word problems for math under achievers in after- school-care class 4. Using schematic video and Equality Axiom system could enhance and maintain results of solving algebraic equations word problems for math under achievers in after- school-care class 5. For math under achievers in after- school-care class, using schematic video and Equality Axiom system had an effect of transfer of learning on solving multi-step algebraic word problems with algebraic equations word problems. 6. The schematic video and Equality Axiom system enhanced students’ learning motivation in math learning.
