| Summary: | 碩士 === 基督教台灣浸會神學院 === 基督教神學研究所 === 102 === This research studies the evangelical ministry to Vietnamese people in Taiwan. It focuses on the Vietnamese Labor (VL) in Taiwan and Vietnamese Spouses (VS) of Taiwanese. These two groups of people face four major difficulties: 1) work and life, 2) interpersonal relationship, 3) psychological adjustment, and 4) religious beliefs. By helping them overcome these cross-cultural challenges, so that they can become the disciples of Lord Jesus Christ is in the core of this study.
Caring and helping the VL and VS during their difficult time is the key for them to become a Christian. Following are four summarized strategies:
1.Work and life: Though VL and VS need time to adjust their lives in Taiwan. Their language ability is the most important factor for working and living here. Training them to speak Chinese language well or teaching them to communicate properly with their employer are some practical helps for them.
2. Interpersonal relationship: Due to their lack of language ability and busy working schedule, many VL and VS only make friends with other Vietnamese people. To create opportunities for them to interact with local Taiwanese and to build up trust relationship will help them.
3. Psychological adjustment: Due to many difficulties coming from culture differences, language barriers, and communication in workplace, the VL group
endure a lot of psychological pressures. Inviting them to evangelical meetings with Vietnamese food will help relieve their pressure.
4. Religious belief: Many VL and VS had their own local or Buddhism belief before coming to Taiwan. They became Christians after receiving help from churches or Christian friends during the difficult adjustment. But there still exist language barriers for them to blend into church life. Improvements are needed to prevent their lost of faith.
Finally, this research offers suggestions to help these VL and VS, that they may share in the blessings of the gospel of Christ Jesus.
