In this research, the questionnaire method was applied, and the sample was the teaches in the primary school in Pingtung City. 302 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the valid recovering rate is 92.9% by stratified sampling. The research data was analyzed by Application Software–SPSS for Windows 12.0 and significance level α=.05 testing by “descriptive statistic”, “t-test“ , “one-way ANOVA, independent samples, and‘Pearson‘s procduct-moment correlation coefficient“. After the analysis, the following conclusions were raised: 1.In Pingtung City, the factors of primary school teachers‘ motivations for participating in recreational sports were “Psychological Needs“, “Health Needs“, “Friendship Needs“,“Interpersonal Relationship“. 2.In Pingtung City, the primary school teachers of different genders had significant differences on motivations of participation in recreational sports. Among the primary school theachers of different positions, and marriage & family status had significant differences only on Friendship Needs, but have no significant differences on other factors. 3.In Pingtung City, among the motivations, the primary school teachers regard ”Health Needs” as the most important factors. 4.In Pingtung City, among the primary school teachers’ barriers of participation in recreational sports, “Fields and Facilities“ gets the highest score and “self-condidence“gets the lowest score. 5.There were no significant differences existed in different genders, ages, seniority, and marriage & family status among the primary school teachers’ barriers of participation in recreational sports. Only in different positions face signifivantly different barriers of participation in recreational sports. 6.There was a low correlation between the overall motivations and overall obstacles.
