Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 應用英語系 === 102 === The purpose of this study aims to understand the relationship between parents' background variables and the parent-child English co-learning experience in Tainan. The method for carrying out this study was using questionnaires to the participants who were expected to respond anonymously. To investigate various factors of parental background variables such as genders, ages, living areas, occupations, educational levels, family types, the gender of the child who co-learned with parents and the grade level the child was, this study took the convenience sampling way to pick the participants residing in Tainan areas. All the participants were those parents whose children studied in the elementary school. The results of investigation were analyzed by statistical methods including t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and descriptive statistics. The findings of the study included the following: 1. Generally, the data showed that most parents in Tainan did not have much experience in co-learning English with their child. 2. There were some significant differences in the parent-child English co-learning between the factors of family background such as parental educational level, parental occupation, address area, the gender and grade level of children. 3. There was a positive correlation between the perceived benefits and parent-child English co-learning experience. Parents who had higher score in the part of co-learning perceived benefits had higher score in the part of parent-child English co-learning experience.
