Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 休閒事業管理系 === 102 === This study was to research the recreation patterns that the new immigrant women were living in one Yun-Lin village attended, and also would like to find out the recreation constraints they met. This study was by qualitative analysis, referring to “The new immigrant women recreation patterns and constraints” questionnaire designed by the researcher for semi-structured in-depth interview. Then, summarized the results from interview and verified the found points with literature review. The major findings of this study were as below:
1. Social type and entertainment type recreation were the main streams. The women involved this study were most from labor or agriculture families. Considering the family’s economy, they always participated chat, walk, dining, religious activity, singing songs, watching TV and playing internet games as recreation activities.
2. Outdoor recreation type and culture with knowledge-based type were not difficult to get. The women involved in this study were from life-knowledge class and researcher’s pupils’ parents and have participated outdoor and culture with knowledge-based recreation via workshop or school activities.
3. The new immigrant women lacked skill type and sport type recreation because of the lower education levels and elder spouses’ age.
4. Limited time was the major constraint for recreation because the new immigrant women took the responsibilities of caring family, raising children or earning money.
5. Because of limited family disposed income and economy pressure, the new immigrant women did not have recreation budget, or chose lower-cost recreation.
6. Some of the new immigrant women were introverted, and someone did not have family support or accompanied friends to involve recreation activities
7. The inconvenient transportation system of this studied village constrained the scope of recreation. Also, one new immigrant woman got health problem and confined her recreation involvement.
