Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 多媒體與電腦娛樂科學系 === 102 === Although the existing game industry in Taiwan retains a stable working team, nevertheless it faces a major challenge due to talent supply shortage. The merits of game products depend not only on the designer’s creative talent, experience, and technical capabilities, but also on management and leadership so as to produce effective output. This study firstly utilized case study as the base in order to practically understand the duties of a game art director and his required abilities; then through questionnaire survey, quantitative data were collected in order to analyze duties, learning background, and management training of experts. Furthermore, game art directors were consulted through semi-structured and in-depth interviews, from which the impact on organizational innovation and learning of their leadership style and incentive mechanism were explored. As a result, it was observed that there is definitely a management training inadequacy in the field of game art. Different competent leadership style should be applied for different occasions, opportunities, and objects; when necessary, combining two or more of the leadership styles makes management more effective. In addition, the core competitiveness of game art must rely on constant organizational innovations to improve quality and shorten production time.
