Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 化學工程與材枓工程系 === 102 === Copolymers of methacrylic acid (MAA) and tert-butyl methacrylate (TBMA) were prepared by acidic hydrolysis of poly tert-butyl methacrylate. The poly(MAA- TBMA)s were converted to copolymers of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and TBMA by methylation with diazomethane. The result reveals the side chain of PTBMA changed to carboxylic acid group by hydrolysis reaction. The characteristic signals of the proton of methyl groups at 3.6 ppm in the 1 H NMR spectrum after the esterification with diazomethane, which demonstrated the hydrolysis and esterification of PTBMA can successfully give MMA-TBMA copolymer. The results of STA showed the weight loss decreased with increased of MMA content in MMA-TBMA copolymer. The thermal properties of the copolymer obtained in different solvents are significant changes. The ratio of PMMA to PTBMA within the copolymer was determined to be 48.9/51.5 by 1 H NMR spectroscopy. The first and second principal components (PC1 and PC2) reflected chemical composition and heterogeneity of monomer sequence, respectively. The plots indicate that the monomer sequence in the copolymers derived from acidic hydrolysis resembles to the sequence in radical copolymers (random).
