碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 工業管理研究所 === 102 === 　　Due to the increased environmental dynamism, it has become increasingly necessary for firm to diversify their technological portfolio. However, so far there is no consistent finding on the performance effect of technological diversity. This study therefore attempts to shed new light on the knowledge of technological diversify. 　　In this study, based on a sample of R&D-intensive firms worldwide, we found that technological diversification has a positive effect on firms' return on investment. Moreover, in addition to the universal effect of technological diversification, we found that performance effect of technological diversification can be strengthened when firms have larger size or possessing a higher level of absorptive capacity.
