In the metropolitan area, the air flow is hampered by the high-rise buildings, which are densely built in the same region, seriously affecting the air flow distribution. The environmental air flow is subject to the shape and the heights of buildings, once being impeded, it is likely to become swirling turmoil, “street wind”, which has high wind speed, or become “high-rise building wind”, caused by screen effect. All the above will alternate how outdoor air flows, causing inconvenience for the residence in the area. To analyze and discuss this phenomenon, this research uses the high-rise building in Kaohsiung as its model, and adopts Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) flow simulation to simulate how air flows around high-rise buildings. The simulated factors include 1) south west wind in summer and north east wind in winter, 2) wind speed 1.91 m/s in summer and 1.66 m/s in winter, 3) different heights of buildings, which are 45m、60m、84m、150m. This research uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to analyze the climate in Kaohsiung, and utilizes A Research on The feasibility of Air Ventilation Assessment, conducted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as a guideline to evaluate the impact and the benefits of different periods of natural air ventilation may have on different heights of high-rise buildings. By doing so, the efficacy of natural air ventilation of high-rise buildings could be predicted and can serve as a guideline for designers and users on architecture design planning. 周伯丞 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 121 zh-TW
