Summary: | 碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 資訊管理系碩士班 === 102 === With the increasing popularity of computers and the internet, the internet has made life easier then ever. Besides being the convenient tool for life, especially for the teenagers grows in the E-generation, the on-line games and other internet activities have become the important leisure recreations in modern life. The targets of the study were the sixth graders in Hsin Chya Elementary School, Fenshen Dist., Kaohsiung City. Through questionnaire survey, the purpose was to find out the correlation between internet addiction and academic achievement and analyze the prediction of how internet addiction did to academic achievement. There were 378 valid samples and the collected data were analyzed by t-test, MANOVA and regression analysis.
According to the results, about the weekly average NET surfing time, the students were the most with less than 10 hours. The major motivation of using the internet was playing games and making and chatting with friends were the second. The most popular internet activity type was listening to music and videos and the on-line games and social network were the second. As for internet addition, the variation of parents’ attitudes, the time spending on the NET, the motivation of using the internet and involving different types of internet activities were all critically influential to internet addiction of the fifth and sixth graders. The students with high tendency toward the internet addiction may have poorer academic records than those with lower tendency.
