碩士 === 世新大學 === 經濟學研究所(含碩專班) === 102 === Abstract The purpose of this essay is to unveil the affecting factors of parents’ willingness to vaccination, including Rotavirus Vaccine, Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine, and Influenza Vaccine, in both New Taipei City and Yunlin County. The data were collected by paper questionnaires from families with infants and children under six in the 4th quarter of 2013, totally 105 family units from New Taipei City whereas 92 family units from Yunlin County. The study employed the Probit model for empirical analysis and found that the age of mother, the socio-economic characteristics of mother, as well as being a full-time working women, play vital factors whether infants and children taking vaccines or not. To sum up, Ministry of Health and Welfare is advised to educate the pregnant women and promote the importance of vaccination via profession medical staff, to instill the benefit of vaccination on the sole care-taker, or mother. By doing so, the health of infants and children is protected, and the ratio of vaccination is elevated.
