We called this issue “the sunflower student movement”. It brought different public opinion in Taiwan. This study discusses the comparison of rhetorical vision of the sunflower student movement in the newspapers' editorials and letters to the editor, this research according to the texts in United Daily News and Liberty Times. Examined the rhetorical vision of sunflower student movement in newspapers by using the fantasy theme analysis method. The research question is: what does the newspapers construct the fantasy theme, the fantasy types and the rhetorical vision of the sunflower student movement? This study found that the sunflower student movement in China Times was behavior of anti-democratic, Ignorance and political trickery. But the rhetorical vision in Liberty Times, was the young people created a whole new democratic thinking and resisted the government violence. Observed those letters to the editor, we could find that the ideology guidance characteristic of the newspapers' editorials, always would be "chain out" by readers.
