The sequential analysis was employed to analyze the interview data. Nowadays, romantic love is take for granted to be the foundation of marriage. But to the participant of this research, she representations marriage as a surrendering to the traditional Chinese family structure. This conflict is not because she’s not think romantic love as a foundation of marriage, but by the relationship with all her past lovers, she finds out that is impossible to construct a ideal marriage. The ideal marriage of this participant, is more likely to the “pure relationship” that Giddens have mentioned. In the relationship construct by the “pure relationship”, is more equally in power, and everyone who get evolved in the relationship is respected by others. But it’s depends on the autonomy of individual, even more, on the liberty and equality of the whole society. So, it’s quite hard in Taiwan, now.
