Summary: | 碩士 === 國防大學政治作戰學院 === 政治研究所 === 102 === Since 2003, based on "Offshore Shipping Center ", the "Free Trade Zone" became the government’s important policy to break through current economic difficulties. And one of it’s special attributes, "outside the customs and within the boundary", can provide the import-goods further “depths of processing”, which can increase the added value than traditional transit center can do. Besides, it can also be an "experimental zone " to test the possibility of free trade in Taiwan. The ultimate goal is to attract multinational companies to come here to build logistics centers. But in addition to Taiwan, many East Asian countries are also competing for the establishment of free trade area. What should we do to be victorious in this highly competitive market. What are our strategies?
Face of global competition is not current issue, so I try to learn from Dr. Sun Yat-sen 's “The International Development of China”, to discover his economic thought of sea ports. Then analyze competitive strategies of Taiwan FTP from three dimensions: Factors of economic liberalization; Regional economic factors; The intermodal transportation factor. Finally I used SWOTs to discuss the internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats from Taiwan Free Trade Port.
After the study, I had three proposals to provide government for reference: 1.Strengthen the advantage of depths of processing; 2. Develop the FTP toward International Logistics; 3. Communicate with people, resolve disputes.
Externally, Taiwan face the competition from China and other Asian countries, and have to deal with internal distrust of the people of Taiwan to mainland China, under the circumstances, how to develop the right strategy to promote industrial upgrading to break through the bottleneck is the key to our future national competitiveness.
