碩士 === 東吳大學 === 歷史學系 === 102 === Shitong can be regarded as a remarkable classic for the study of historical theory in China. In modern times, the most popular version accessible to scholars is Shitong Tongshi annotated by Qilong Pu. Qilong Pu devoted a large part of his lifetime for the preparation of imperial examinations. He became an official when he obtained the Jinshi degree. Shitong Tongshi was accomplished after Pu’s retirement in his old age. In this work, Pu paid particular attention to the “ six models ” and “ two history styles ”. It has made a notable impact on the Chinese historiography ever since its publication in modern times. Shulin Huang’s Shitong Xungubu was published earlier than Shitong Tongshi. In mid-Qing Dynasty, Shitong Xungubu earned a better reputation than Shitong Tongshi. But Shitong Tongshi’s commentary is more complete. Even though Shitong Tongshi was criticized in mid-Qing Dynasty, it is still one of the best versions. Keyword：Qilong Pu, Shitong Tongshi, Shitong
