The reasons are that there are not only meaningfully minor differences but also the each sentence has modality restrictions. As for the language learner whose second language is Japanese, the conditional sentences are extremely difficult for them to learn. If we generally review the language learning books in the market, a great deal of books almost focus on the verbal alter to introduce the conditional sentences. It’s not easy for the majority of language beginner learners to use the conditional sentences which combines 「to・ba・tara・nara」in language learners first stage. When observing the language learners’ writings and conversations, it indicates that grammar mistakes are due to violating modality restrictions not from verbal alters. This paper will clarify the restrictions and range of these four conditional sentences and find out the Japanese language learners of Taiwanese learning situation of conditional sentences.
The study investigates conditional sentences and proposes the definition of restriction types. It researches the learning process of conditional sentences about Japanese language learners, then probing conditional sentences of the speakers whose mother tongue is Japanese in the end.
This research adopts LARP at SCU Corpus as the main database. It takes three and half years to record by using wring and interviewing the Japanese language learners from beginner level to intermediate level. This longitudinal research belongs to not only certain Japanese language learner but also many of Japanese language leraners. This research are based on LARP at SCU Corpus, research objects are fifteen people whose mother tongue is Chinese. Then we take their thirty-three times of Japanese essay writings to investigate conditional sentences. Three Japanese language educators of Taiwanese assist the judgment of correction. To analyze the conditional sentence of learners’ learning situation, we divide the conditional sentences in ten groups. The record of learners’ present distribution in all kinds of groups. Records specify not only corrections but also analysis of main causes.
The research analyzes and investigates the validity and utility rate of language learners when they use conditional sentences. It examines the validity and utility rate of language learners when they apply conditional sentences as well. The degree of difficulty is also discussed in this part. In order to understand the language learners’ learning situation of conditional sentence, this research also investigates whether the mother tongue affects the Japanese language learning or not.
