Summary: | 碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 管理碩士在職專班 === 103 === Nowadays, because of lengthening of lifespan, the need for health care is increasing. In order to introduce the concept of health promoting and health maintaining to people, the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare began adult preventive health examination since 1996. Did people return to the hospital where they received examination when they had any abnormal result in their health examination report? Did habits such as smoking, drinking, chewing betel nuts influence their attitude? We also investigate what was the factors that influence people to visit hospital. It was the main topic of this research.
In this research, we used structured questionnaire. Study objects were people who received preventive health examination in one metropolitan hospital in Taichung. Sampling method was purposive sampling. Statistic method included descriptive statistic, chi-square test, and logistic regression.
Result: If studied object had abnormal result in health examination, those who lived in mountain line district and who cared about their healthy had higher possibility of returning to hospitals. On the contrary, those who chewed betel nut, accessed information from newspaper, magazine, internet, or told by doctors, had lower possibility of returning to hospitals. Furthermore, we observed that people who chose to return to the hospital where they received health examination were retired, working in IT field, having one descendant, living in mountain line district (North district in Taichung, South district in Taichung, and other districts in Taichung), having 2-4 times health examinations before, accessing information from doctors, Those who recieved information about adult health examination from health education flyer from hospitals or from other people had less tendency to choose the hospital where they were examined originally.
People who were aware of the information about adult health examination cared health information more. People who had habits harming health, especially chewing betel nuts tended to avoid thinking of health problems. Therefore, we should emphasize information of quitting betel nuts when promoting preventive health care. We should also encourage people who chewed betel nuts to receive health examination. Whether visiting hospital or not, place of residence had influence to some extent, and traffic convenience was the most important consideration. As a result, we suggested that medical staff should cooperate with the chief of village and avoid work by our own self when promoting health examination in community. In the long term, try to develop community health network which integrate with government institutions.
