Summary: | 碩士 === 國立虎尾科技大學 === 資訊工程研究所 === 102 === With the evolution of information technology, the transmission of the printer is gradually being replaced by wireless transmission technology. Owing to the increasing demand for immediate printing and the rise of environmental consciousness, the traditional thermal printing methods have gradually been eliminated, replacing with the up-to-date wireless printing device and the embedded printing device. Therefore, this study aims to integrate wired and wireless instant printing functionality and the embedded adapter system with networked printer for immediate printing function.
The system consists of two parts: an Embedded Print Server and Pictbridge Adapter Device. The core platform of the system is using ARM Cortex A8 Series Samsung S5PV210 processor and the Android operating system with high portability and stability. The SPI interface and touch screen’drivers are porting on embedded adapter system. The Android Application Framework layer is utilized to develop the user interface program which provids convenient operation of human-computer interaction.
The Pictbridge Adapter Device is primarily to establish a link between the Pictbridge printers, according to the practical application, can be divided into two parts, both wired and wireless type. The wired part is achieved in accordance with Pictbridge standard, and Pictbridge functionality is utilized to achieve instant print without using computers. The other part is the use of a wireless Wi-Fi module and Wi-Fi Direct connect to the image data directly sending to the printer side to implement printing. The printing mode could be selected and set via Android embedded platform.
Finally, the wired and wireless transmission of printing capabilities is implemented in the system through actual testing and verification. The results confirms the system improves the networking printing features portability and, more significantly reduce the complexity and building costs of printing features networking.
