The buck mode of the proposed buck-boost converter is selected when the input rectifier voltage is higher than the output voltage. Similarly, the boost mode of the one is selected when the input rectifier voltage is lower than output voltage. In the proposed, the Renesas micro-controller is used and implemented with predictive pulse width modulation control, this method can improve the performance of the PF and THD. Finally, a 1kW buck-boost cascaded converter is proposed to reach high power factor, reduce the harmonic distortion of the input current, and improve the system efficiency.
